"The words you hear are my thoughts. A narration, if you will. Events that led me up to this point."
A blurry indigo light is seen overhead. It blinks in an out like a newborn opening his eyes for the first time. With each blink the light becomes more vivid. It is a singular panel of fluorescent radiance.
"I can't move. At first my entire body was lifeless. Slowly, I could feel it come back to me. My senses are trying to come back."
A small grunt of a worn soul is heard. What was first a deafening pulse slowly subsides into silence.
"I could feel my heart beating. It was slow, but it was hard, like someone was inside of me, trying so hard to escape. It smells sterile in here, worse than a hospital."
Something, out of view begins to click. Click......Click.....Click. It comes to a stop and within seconds a loud humming noise ensues.
"I can feel my body, but it is limp. Who has done this to me? My head is strapped down, too. I can't turn it, I have no strength."
The fluorescent illumination begins to flicker; not by his doing; there is some outside force, restraining him in this place. An unmistakable sound of footsteps clicks in the distance; not just one set, but a group, almost in sync. The loud echo gives hints of at least five.
"WHO'S THERE? I try to cry out, but nothing escapes my mouth but a putrid stench with a metallic flavor."
Darkness. The cerulean glow has ceased.
"You're too much of a burden here." A deep, raspy voice states.
A female voice replies to him, "He can't be permitted to stay here any longer."
"Why can't I stay here? What's going on? Did I do something to anger these people? Who am I?"
Faint tones can be heard just to the left. Loud ambient noises seem to encompass the prisoner. An azure illumination fluctuates overhead.
The raspy voice gains an overconfident tone, "Back to the past with you. You'll spend the rest of your days among primates, powerless to do anything."
"Powerless? What're they talking about?"
With that there is a intense flare that results in silence and in darkness.
"Doctor, I forgot to bind his powers." The female voice utters.
"You what!?! If he is not bound then....." The man's deep voice begins to fill with grief.
"The past will be destroyed and will cease to be....." The female voice quietly whispers.
